2008 Summer Session
The High Desert Teens Volunteer Program provides teens opportunities to gain valuable social, work, and leadership skills while serving the community and supporting the mission of the High Desert Museum. Service in the High Desert Teens Volunteer Program is directly related to CAM benchmarks in Science, Social Sciences, English, and Career and Life Roles. Many schools award credit or community service hours to teens involved in the program.
Individuals involved in the High Desert Teens Volunteer Program provide programming for Museum visitors, interact with Museum wildlife and living history characters, and have opportunities to participate in educational field trips and projects.
Teens applying for the program must be at least 12 years old by
July 1, and entering grades 7 - 12 in the 2008-2009 school
year. Service as a High Desert Teen can continue until
the end of the summer following high school graduation. The
2008 High Desert Teens Summer Program is nine weeks, running
June 16 through August 15. Applications for the 2008 summer are
due by April 18, 2008. Please download the application from the
website and return it to the High Desert Teens Program
coordinator.
